What is a dialogue list?
A dialogue list includes word-accurate dialogue and speaker ID. We can prepare a dialogue list in any of three formats:
1) without timecode references
2) with timecode references in for each speaker
3) with timecode references in and out for each speaker

What languages does Line 21 work in?
We work in either English or French. All of our staff have both impeccable spelling and grammar.

Canadian or American spelling?
We’re multilingual at Line 21. We’ll use "labour" or "labor" as you wish.

What does Line 21 need to prepare my dialogue list?
1) We require a VHS dub of the program as it will be aired with timecode burn. Timecode on channel 2 is handy to have.

Note: if we are also captioning your program, we only need one copy of the VHS dub.

2) The dub should have a locked picture and final audio. If you plan to send an initial dub, it is crucial that we know what will be changing and where. Extensive changes after the fact can be costly for you.

3) We also need a copy of the shooting script on disc or by email in any of the following formats: .rtf .doc .pdf .wps .txt .asc .fdr. If you have a script in another format, please contact the office to see if it's compatible with our software.

Note: we prefer to receive the electronic copy of your script in advance of the scripting date (this helps us to schedule accurately).

How long does it take Line 21 to turnaround my dialogue list?
For projects scheduled in advance, a dialogue list takes one week following captioning deadline, ten days if no captioning service is performed. Contact us to set up a schedule. 604.662.4600 (Vancouver, Canada)
