What is a combined continuity script?
A combined continuity script is one where:
- each shot is numbered and given a time reference
- continuity is concisely described
- dialogue is word-accurate and includes ID
- main titles and supers are numbered in
The script is completed using either a timecode format or a feet-&-frame format, or both.

Can I get my combined continuity script in French?
Yes, we work in either English or French, and use experienced staff with flawless spelling and grammar. If you supply a French show, you’ll receive a French combined continuity script. If you give us English, we’ll give you back English (so what we’re trying to say is that we don’t translate).

What does Line 21 need to create my combined continuity script?
1) We require a VHS dub of the program as it will be aired with timecode burn. It doesn't need a timecode burn or timecode on channel 2, but it's fine if they're there.

Note: if we are also captioning your program, we only need one copy of the VHS dub.

2) The dub should have a locked picture and final audio. If you plan to send an initial dub, it is crucial that we know what will be changing and where. If the titles or music will be changing, please let us know so we don't include them, then later have to go back and make changes. This can be costly for you and may even affect your deadline if the changes are extensive.

3) We also need a copy of the shooting script on disc or by email in any of the following formats: .rtf .doc .pdf .wps .txt .asc .fdr. If you have a script in another format, please contact the office to see if it's compatible with our software.

Note: we prefer to receive the electronic copy of your script in advance of the scripting date (this helps us to schedule accurately).

How long does it take to prepare a combined continuity script?
If your project is scheduled in advance, we’ll need ten days to two weeks following captioning deadline, or two-and-a-half weeks if no captioning service is performed. Contact us to set up a schedule. 604.662.4600 (Vancouver, Canada)
